I loved this round. It challenged the writers, but also got the best out of them. It is very difficult to put across all you want to convey in such a short word count.

Fiction Marathon 2022: Entries are open
Each round, the writers are sent an assignment with word count. The stories are all anonymous, and the writers must not discuss which one is theirs. They receive points from a panel of judges and an open public vote.

Chat Me Up? Feedback Round One BFM 2021
I’m a very visual writer. So in this round I was looking for a picture, conveyed in a scene or setting. I wanted the sentence to flow without being too concerned as to whether the writer used 20 or 50 words. Also, for the characters to behave like people. And I enjoy a little wit too. I am not particularly interested in anything too cliched, and although I think I’m not keen on romance, if written well then I kind of love it!
