Edgar Allan Poe had a way with words

Edgar Allan Poe had a way with words

I am a great fan of Edgar Allan Poe.

He certainly had a way with words. Particularly saying very little but conveying so much.

So today I am going to let Poe say the things that are resonating with me. The things that I perhaps could say but not in so few words.

Take it away Edgar!

Literature is the most noble of professions… For my own part, there is no seducing me from the path.

All religion, my friend, is simply evolved out of fraud, fear, greed, imagination, and poetry.

Stupidity is a talent for misconception.

  1. I love the dreamy edit on this image and really enjoyed the quotations you shared. Excellent post so thank you for sharing. Missy x

  2. Poe is wonderful. I was fortunate to live in the Baltimore- DC area for nearly a decade. Seeing his room on the quad at University of Virginia was inspiring.
Walking his streets in Baltimore his words still echoed. Father of the detective story in English written stories. Depressed genius.

May, you honor the poet and author.

    The image is perfect.
Reminds me of Rodin’s Caryatid fallen under her stone.
