July ~ My Blogging Summary and SoSS

In the UK we had a heatwave during July. So hot in some places it felt there was not enough oxygen to breath – and I like it hot! I work outside so it was a particularly tiring month.

My Blogging Summary

It has been a busy blogging month for me as I am involved in the Summer 100 challenge so have been publishing regularly. I notched up fifteen posts during the month.

My Series

I have continued with my series The Curse and the current episode is number seven. It has been enormous fun to write – the character Eddie has got very much under my skin. So much so that I write each part in record time – he just seems to flow from my fingers 😉

Smut Marathon

I am very proud to say that I am still in the Smut Marathon. Now through to the knockout round seven. Learning and enjoying all the time. The last entry achieved the most points for me so far.

My online friend Jor was involved in the Dutch Marathon and translated his intriguing Cookie story into English for us to enjoy. I helped him with the final edit.

Words

My favourite post, from the last month,  apart from the above, was a sharing post about the use of condoms in fiction.

Image

My favourite image was also the most read post on my site this month. It was chosen in the top five picks for Sinful Sunday – The first of my pool shots. It really surprised me how professional this shot looks. My bum really is NOT that hot – the angle and light were spot on though.

Guest host and post

I was lucky to host a gorgeous diptych from the very creative ToM, for Sinful Sunday which also won a position in the top five for that week. (Thank you to her for the header image on this post.)

In July I had a guest post published by the fabulous Joanne. After an investigation, I realised I actually had three ideas for the last round of the smut marathon. You can read the second on her brilliant site.

Simply the best ~ During July

This month I have read a great deal of posts. I usually make a note if something catches my eye. Rather than sharing a long list – there is THAT much good stuff out there – I have decided to give you one from each category.

Hard working Chick

Isabelle really puts time and effort into her posts and also at the moment co-hosting the Summer 100 challenge. She also has a youngish family to take care off. Big thanks to all she does.

Long-term Blog

July has drawn me to  Ani’s blog. My goodness, it is fantastic. I would really recommend you have a read. She is not afraid of a debate and is excellent at giving a balanced view of a topic.

New blog

Recently I found a fabulous new blog Sexy Spoonie. It’s a bit different – pop over and have a read.

Fiction

This post by cara had me hooked. I have read it many times. Even got my man to look because I think it’s a must read!

Non-fiction

The delectable Sassy Cat really got my attention with her summary of July. It is about life – her life. The post is powerful and the photos/artwork  are just brilliant.

Image

We lost a wonderful blogger, M, at the end of last month. Schedualed posts are still appearing on her blog as she was a great planner. My friend Indie,  submitted this incredible image to Sinful Sunday, inspired by Cammies on the Floor work.

  1. Thanks May, I appreciate the shout out so much and can’t wait to meet you in person!
Youve introduced me to some new blogs in this ost and I will make a point of checking them out. As someone who never learned another language I too am in awe of multi linguistic skills.
Lastly I am grateful that my image in memoriam of M has been so well received – I really wasn’t sure if people close to her would find it appropriate or not. Huge hugs ? Indie xx

  2. So lovely to see you’ve been helping Jor 🙂
Great roundup and I am definitely going to check Sexy Spoonie. I am intrigued by the name 🙂

    1. I have edited a few bits for him as I think it actually helps me with my fiction by helping him 😉 and the fact that you both write in your second language is just amazing and humbling xx
