Music feeds the soul ~ Let’s Celebrate

Music feeds the soul ~ Let’s Celebrate

It has to be said my man and I very much go our way…

If I could
Baby, I’d give you my world
Open up
Everything’s waiting for you

Christmas Celebration

Doing our own thing, be it together, applies to Christmas and new year too. We only usually celebrate when my girls or his brother joins us. Because of lockdown restrictions that was not possible this year. However, 2020 had been such a car crash we both felt the need to party – just the two of us …

Can’t make it all alone
Built my dreams around you

Pogues ~ Fairytale of New York

And we ended up having so much fun both on Xmas day and New Years Eve.

Christmas day included scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and prosecco style bucks fizz for brunch. Later I got on my knees to suck cock. Followed by him using my favourite toy on me.

Continuing to indulge ourselves we had a fine cut of steak for dinner accompanied by a bottle of Rioja followed with a cheese board. We finished the thoroughly agreeable day playing cards, listening to music and chatting. Giving time to each other – nobody and nothing else – the whole day.

It doesn’t matter where you go or what you do
I want to spend each moment of the day with you

Dusty Springfield ~ Only want to be with you

New Years Eve

On New years eve we had a wonderful rainbow trout dinner and then decided to put on old songs we like (via that video channel, you know the one) – playing an alphabet game. So I began by putting on a song or band beginning with A…

That’s how easy love can be
Sing a simple melody
One, two, three
You and me!

ABC ~ Jackson 5

Then my man picked a choice for A and B. I took the baton and choose B and C. All the while the wine was flowing. We were not allowed to choose the same band twice.

By 4am we were only up to R and continued until 6 in the morning. Falling in to bed and not emerging until midday. I don’t think I have been up that late since I was in my 20’s.

Fuel for the Soul

By indulging our fun side and desires we certainly felt as if we had fed our souls somewhat. These are hard times for everyone and it is important to remember self care.

I look at the sun
I take it in
It’s under my skin
Pagan heart
Pagan soul

Van Morrison ~ Pagan Heart

We both felt more positive with a whiff of optimism for 2021. After all – even though my man cooks and feeds me –

Music feeds the soul

I will be playing plenty of it during 2021. Wishing you all well …

  1. Of course it is a pity that your other relatives could not join your holiday. But at the same time, the two of you were so harmonious that these days will remain in your memory for a long time.

  2. Such a perfect title May. Sounds like you had a fabulous time and alone time with our significant others is so important. I love how you wove your songs into your post as well.

  3. I hadn’t thought of it before, but really all it takes is a little music, some special eats, and suddenly you have a celebration. And any time we say we are having a party, the first things we think about are decorations and food and music. So to make every day a celebration…

I’m glad you got some time to just BE together. We have been struggling, since our son is always home. I love being with my family, but some alone time with my husband would be so nice.

  4. You’ve reminded me that we need to set some time aside for us too. Great post, uplifting and fun.

  5. I love that you did it alphabetically — there is something about that definitive progression of letters that is quite satisfying. 🙂 I’m planning my April A-to-Z around music this year and for similar reasons — it’s celebratory, all by itself; it makes me happy; it feeds the soul.

I hope your 2021 is filled with Good Things.

  6. Music does feed the soul, and so much more. Love your idea of playing songs alphabetically. Sounds like an amazing holiday time was shared.
I especially love your tie into Go your own way. As you know, I think we should all go that way 🙂
